Kane was our first born. We lived in Ft. Sumner in 2002 and drove all the way to Datil to pick him up. He was a tiny little pup. We took him everywhere with us since he fit perfectly in my purse. He grew up and ended weighing a whopping 3 pounds. He was spoiled by Trin and Liam, but for some reason he was not too fond of Lennon and would hardly let him pet him. All of a sudden he started limping and would sometimes cry. We took him to the vet and did x-rays to find that he had a broken hip and had a tumor on his brain. We were given the option of laying him down or take him home on pain medication to keep him comfortable, of course we chose to bring him home. We had him about a week and we realized he wasn't going to get better, if anything he got worse. Bobby and I stayed up with him the whole night trying to decide on what we should do. The kids seeing him hurting and screaming loudly in pain was breaking our hearts even more. We finally realized we were being selfish and it wasn't fair to Kane to be in so much pain. Till this day it has been the toughest decision we have had to make. We are thankful we had 13 long years with him, but still miss him tons.
